NFS Annual Dinner Meeting 2016
The National Foundation for Syndactyly held our Annual Dinner and Executive Board Meeting January 7, 2016. President and Founder Woody Gray outlined 2015 accomplishments and outlined our 2016 goals and objectives.
Most notably in 2015 was our Helping Hands Brochures for Hospitals and Physicians to provide to families as they are touched by Syndactyly. Goals and Objectives for 2016 include a new outreach to charitable corporations. In additional to donations received through our web site that are earmarked for research, we seek additional grant money to help fund additional Research, Support and Educational Programs. The Board is looking to host and or participate in an Annual Hand Camp for Children with Syndactyly.
Dr. Charles Goldfarb, Chair of the Scientific Advisory Committee, briefed the Board on the Shriners Hand Camp we might help sponsor and the Syndactyly research currently sponsored by NFS at Washington University. The Board added two new at-large positions, one of which is a family member touched by Syndactyly. Kelly Meyer assumed the family member role at our January 2016 meeting. In additional to providing a mother’s/family’s perspective to the NFS Board, Kelly will be helping investigate and plan an Annual Conference for Families and Physicians in the future.
Finally, we welcomed Dr. Lindley Wall, Washington University Hand Surgeon, to the Scientific Advisory Committee. The next Board meeting is planned for September 15th following our Annual Metro East Golf Classic fund-raising tournament Sept 12th, 2016.
